Analysis of common failures of agricultural water pumps

Reasons and elimination methods for agricultural water pumps not producing water：

a. Insufficient irrigation and water diversion. Before starting the agricultural water pump, the pump (including the water inlet pipe) should be filled with water, otherwise the irrigation water will be insufficient, and there will be air in the pump, so the water cannot be pumped. It can be solved by filling enough water to drain the air in the pump.

b. Air leakage in the water inlet pipe. Air leakage mainly occurs at the connection between the water inlet pipe and the agricultural pump body. It is necessary to check whether the rubber pads in between are intact, and each connecting bolt must be tightened to stop the air leakage.

c. The filter head is blocked. In the process of installation and use, the water filter head is often clogged due to suction of silt, weeds, leaves and other debris, and no water can be discharged. At this time, the water filter head should be taken out for cleaning and washing. To prevent re-clogging, metal mesh can be used to cover the water filter head to prevent debris from entering.

d. The shaft (oil) seal is leaking. The shaft seal is made of oil-resistant rubber. After long-term use, it will wear and cause air leakage. The operation can be resumed by replacing the shaft (oil) seal.

Reasons for insufficient and uneven water output from agricultural water pumps and troubleshooting methods:

a. The voltage is too low. Low voltage means less water pumping. Should try to avoid the use of electricity during peak hours, and use large cross-section conductors at the same time.

b. Partial blockage of the water inlet pipe. The water filter head or pump body absorbs a small amount of debris, which causes insufficient water output, which can be removed by removing debris and dredging the pipeline.

c. The impeller clearance is too large. The size of the impeller gap is affected by the conical mouth ring. When the gap is large, it can be adjusted appropriately or the conical mouth ring can be replaced.

d. There is slight air leakage in the water inlet pipe or shaft seal. Check the connection, tighten the bolts, and replace the shaft seal if necessary.

e. The installation position is too high. The installation position of the water pump is too high, the water inlet of the filter head is too shallow, it is easy to inhale air, and cavitation occurs; at the same time, the lifting lift will exceed the specified value that the pump can reach. In this case, there will be insufficient and uneven water pumping. The installation height can be reduced, or a higher-lift agricultural water pump can be used as needed.
